Dear Residents and Local Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
PATROLS Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Longford areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour, such as CBS Arena, Riley Square and Longford Park.
ARRESTS The team have arrested a male for multiple counts of shoplifting at Farmfoods in Riley Square. The total value of his shoplifting has amounted to just over £900. He is currently in spending the night in our custody block following his arrest this afternoon.
VEHICLE SEIZURES This week, PCSO 31750 & PC 24123 seized a vehicle from Canberra Road following a call from a concerned resident reporting a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle had been stolen from the Brinklow area of Warwickshire on the 28/10/25 and will be reunited with its owner in due course.

HOUSING We are working closely with housing associations such as Citizen, Stonewater, Midland Heart and Orbit to keep them informed of any of their tenants who are repeatedly involved in crime and anti-social behaviour, as it is a breach of their tenancy agreement. We are also carrying out joint visits with the housing officers to some addresses to address concerns and complaints received and will take enforcement action if necessary.
OTHER INFORMATION We have now confirmed dates for our next community meetings and engagements: Police and Community Together (PACT) Meeting – St Thomas' Church, Longford Road - 21st January 2026 at 18:00-19:00hrs
